    "body": "<p style=\"text-align: left\"><strong>SPRINGFIELD </strong>&ndash; Today, Governor JB Pritzker issued the following statement following the passage of the Children&#039;s Online Social Media Safety Act to force big tech to implement measures to keep kids safe on social media:</p><p style=\"text-align: left\">&ldquo;While big tech abandons its responsibility to keep our kids safe online, Illinois has stepped in to force them to.</p><p style=\"text-align: left\">&ldquo;Any time we send our children off to school or the playground, we take precautions to keep them safe &mdash; from strangers, environmental dangers, and anything else that might put them in harm&rsquo;s way. Parents and families should have full confidence that the same protections exist to keep their kids protected online. I am proud the Illinois General Assembly passed the Children&rsquo;s Online Social Media Safety Act, marking an important milestone in our efforts to improve kids&rsquo; safety and privacy online, mitigate the harmful effects of social media on mental and physical health, and prevent financial scamming. I look forward to signing this bill into law and continuing our work with parents, educators, and caregivers across the state to protect our kids online.&rdquo;</p><p style=\"text-align: center\">###</p>",
