Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network

CHICAGO – Today, Governor Pritzker announced the State of Illinois is joining the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GOARN), a coordinated international network dedicated to monitoring and responding to global disease outbreaks.

CHICAGO — Today, Governor JB Pritzker reaffirmed his commitment to the core principles he outlined in his FY2025 budget proposal to manage Illinois pension commitments through a set of proposals designed to build on the state’s recent fiscal progress and further reduce long-term risk for taxpayers and retirees. The plans follow steps already taken that have produced Illinois’ strongest pension funded ratio in nearly two decades and reflects a continued focus on doubling down on fiscal responsibility and long-term planning as federal funding uncertainty hovers over the state budget and revenues.

Building on a strong team of diverse experts in their fields, Governor JB Pritzker announced the following appointments in his administration

Gov. Pritzker Announces Six Appointments to Boards and Commissions

Rene Bassett-Butler will continue to serve as Public Administrator and Public Guardian of Madison County.* Bassett-Butler currently serves as Partner at Bassett and Gabriel Law Office, PC in Wood River, where she has practiced law since 1994. Bassett-Butler specializes in estate planning, probate administration, eminent domain, real estate law, and personal injury. Bassett-Butler currently serves on many boards and commissions, including the boards of Riverbend Family Ministries, the Order of St. Francis HealthCare Foundation, and the Alton Foundation. Bassett-Butler earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from University of Tulsa and her Juris Doctorate from Loyola University New Orleans.

Gov. Pritzker Announces Nine Appointments to Boards and Commissions

Ann McIntyre will continue to serve as the Inspector General of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.* McIntyre currently serves as Inspector General for the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), a position she has held since 2022. Previously, McIntyre served on staff in the Office of the Inspector General at DCFS for 27 years, most recently as Chief Legal Counsel. McIntyre is a part of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Association of Inspectors General. Previously, McIntyre served on the DCFS Conflict of Interest Committee and the St. Giles School Board. McIntyre earned her Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from University of Notre Dame and her Master of Social Work and Juris Doctorate from Loyola University.

Company's expansion project will add new production line — creating and retaining jobs at Lena facility

Gov. Pritzker Announces Expansion of Cheese Manufacturer Savencia 

LENA — Today, Governor JB Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) announced that Savencia Cheese USA (Savencia) will expand its existing production facility in Lena, transferring production know-how from France to Illinois. The company plans to add a new production line as part of its capital investment, which will create 50 new full-time jobs while retaining 125 existing jobs.

What: Governor Pritzker will celebrate the facility expansion for Savencia Cheese USA, the French cheese manufacturer whose Lena production site will now employ 50 additional Illinoisans.
