JOLIET — Today, Governor JB Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) joined local leaders to celebrate the construction of new Interstate 80 (I-80) bridges over the Des Plaines River. The project, which began earlier this month, marks the final phase of the $1.3 billion multiyear I-80 rehabilitation and modernization, a key piece of Governor Pritzker’s historic Rebuild Illinois capital program. This year, on the I-80 corridor 13 miles of additional lanes, reconstructed interchanges, safety upgrades and capacity improvements will be completed.

CHICAGO — Today, Governor Pritzker announced that 1,500 new Illinois homebuyers have been offered $18 million in downpayment assistance through the newly created IHDAccess Home (Access Home) program – representing a 52 percent increase in the number of people served by all other IHDA loan programs compared to April 2025.
