Gov. Pritzker Announces Four Appointments to Boards and Commissions
Building on a strong team of diverse experts in their fields, Governor JB Pritzker announced the following appointments in his administration

Energy Workforce Advisory Council
Beatrice Thompson will serve as a Member of the Energy Workforce Advisory Council.* Thompson is a business representative for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union 134, with over three decades of experience in the electrical construction industry. Thompson represents more than 1,300 IBEW Local 134 apprentices and serves as Secretary of the Illinois IBEW Renewable Energy Fund (REF). As an instructor in the REF Summer Solar Program, she helps prepare diverse populations for the IBEW Local 134 apprenticeship program. She is dedicated to ensuring equitable access to clean energy career pathways for students in underserved areas. Recently, she was awarded Crain’s Chicago Business 2024 Leaders in Sustainability Award. Thompson earned a Bachelor of Science from Chicago State University.
Denise Moore will serve as a Member of the Energy Workforce Advisory Council.* Moore currently serves as the CEO and Executive Director of the Black Business Alliance in Peoria, which she founded in 1995. She also serves as the general manager of WPNV 106.3 LP, Peoria’s only African American owned community radio station. Previously, Moore was elected as a member on the City of Peoria City Council and represented the 1st District. She was awarded the Small Business Administration Emerging Leader Award in 2023. Moore earned an Associate’s Degree from South Suburban College and a Bachelor of Science from Illinois State University.
Illinois Finance Authority
Bradley Zeller will continue to serve as a Member of the Illinois Finance Authority.* Zeller previously served as Morgan County Commissioner for 22 years. Currently, he is the Chair of the Morgan County Board of Commissioners and serves on the Emergency 911 Board and the Jacksonville Regional Economic Development Corporation Board. He is a member of the Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce and a former Vice President of the Alexander Businessmen’s Association. Zeller brings a strong background in agricultural economics, farming 1,300 acres including his family’s Centennial Farm. Zeller earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois.
Northeastern Illinois University Board of Trustees
Carlos García will serve as a Member of the Northeastern Illinois University Board of Trustees.* García is a seasoned healthcare executive with a track record of driving transformative initiatives. As the Executive Director of product innovation & strategy at Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC), he led high-impact projects focused on enhancing member experiences, delivering innovative product solutions, and improving population health. His leadership was pivotal in integrating marketing and customer experience functions for key accounts, particularly focusing on Latino communities. Prior to healthcare, García spent over 15 years in the wireless industry at U.S. Cellular, where he led market expansions and developed strategies to increase market share among underserved groups. He is also a Leadership Greater Chicago fellow and serves on multiple boards, including Honeycomb Project and Children’s Oncology Services Inc. García earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois and a Master of Business Administration from DePaul University.
