Gov. Pritzker Announces One Appointment to Boards and Commissions
Building on a strong team of diverse experts in their fields, Governor JB Pritzker announced the following appointment in his administration

Illinois Board of Higher Education
Subhash Sharma will serve as a Member of the Illinois Board of Higher Education.* Dr. Sharma is an emeritus professor of economics at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where he taught for over 35 years and served as the department chair and as director of undergraduate graduate studies. Dr. Sharma chaired and co-chaired 40 Ph.D. dissertations, served on 84 dissertation committees, and supervised 18 master’s research papers. A Fellow of the Midwest Econometric Group, he remains an active researcher with interests in economics, finance, and statistics. He has published 90 papers in leading journals such as the International Economic Review, Journal of Economics, Journal of Banking and Finance, and Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking. Dr. Sharma earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and a Master of Arts in Mathematical Statistics from the University of Delhi, as well as a Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Statistics from the University of Kentucky.
