Gov. Pritzker Announces One Appointment to Boards and Commissions
Building on a strong team of diverse experts in their fields, Governor JB Pritzker announced the following appointment in his administration

Commission on Discrimination and Hate Crimes
Joyce Ozeh will serve as a Member of the Commission on Discrimination and Hate Crimes.* Ozeh currently serves as Supervising Attorney in the Office of the Illinois Attorney General’s Civil Rights Bureau. There, Ozeh has advanced work related to education equity, preventing and responding to hate crimes, and anti-discrimination enforcement in housing and employment. She also served on the trial team in the Office’s first hate crimes prosecution under the Illinois Hate Crimes Act. Previously, Ozeh served as Staff Attorney at Equip for Equality and was a Legal Aid Chicago Maxwell Fellow. An active member of her community, Ozeh serves as Co-Chair of the Disabilities Fund Advisory Board, an affinity fund of The Chicago Community Trust that advises on strategy and grantmaking to advance disability equity. Ozeh earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and her Juris Doctorate from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
