Gov. Pritzker Announces Two Appointments to Boards and Commissions

Building on a strong team of diverse experts in their fields, Governor JB Pritzker announced the following appointments in his administration

Amusement Ride and Attraction Safety Board

JD Lorton will serve as a Member of the Amusement Ride and Attraction Safety Board.* Lorton currently serves as Director of Operations at Aerie’s Resort, overseeing daily operations of the resort’s amusement rides, attractions, and hospitality services. Previously, Lorton taught at North Mac High School in Virden and served as the school’s Head Football Coach. An elected official, Lorton has served as Village Trustee in Hardin since 2018. Additionally, Lorton currently serves as Chairperson of the Great Rivers and Routes Tourism Bureau Board of Directors, Member of the City of Grafton Tourism Committee, and Member of the Calhoun Jr. Warriors Football Club. Lorton earned his Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Illinois College.

Illinois Workforce Innovation Board

Stephen Lefaver will continue to serve as a Member of the Illinois Workforce Innovation Board.* Lefaver currently serves as Director of Apprenticeship and Training at North Central Illinois Finishing Trades Institute (NCIFTI). In this role, he is responsible for the development and management of all operations and personnel functions. Previously, Lefaver served as Assistant Administrator and Apprentice Instructor for Painters District Council No. 30. Lefaver currently serves as an elected Officer and Delegate for Painters District Council No. 30. Lefaver earned his high school diploma from Aurora Central Catholic High School.
