Gov. Pritzker Announces Two Appointments to Boards and Commissions
Building on a strong team of diverse experts in their fields, Governor JB Pritzker announced the following appointments in his administration

Illinois State University Board of Trustees
Doug Peterson will serve as a Member of the Illinois State University Board of Trustees.* Peterson is a strategic leader with profound expertise in AI Strategy and Integration, driving enterprise-wide initiatives that align with corporate objectives and enhance operational efficiency. He currently serves as the Director of AI Strategy and Implementation with AbbVie. Peterson leads AI governance and compliance frameworks, ensuring ethical AI deployment and adherence to regulatory standards, as a part of AbbVie’s Responsible AI and Governance Team. Peterson received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a Master of Information Technology from American InterContinental University, and a Master of Business Administration from Illinois State University.
Joliet Regional Port District Board
Jennifer Howard will serve as a Member of the Joliet Regional Port District Board.* Howard is a dynamic and results-driven executive-leader with over 30 years of experience in chamber leadership and small business ownership. She also has proven expertise in business development and strategic partnership. She currently serves as the President of the 700-member Joliet Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where she leads by advocating for local businesses and fostering regional economic development. Prior to her current role, Howard was the Owner of TCBY Shorewood Crossing, Dunhill Staffing Systems, and Adecco Personnel Services. Howard received an associate degree from Joliet Junior College and Bachelor of Science from Arizona State University.
