Gov. Pritzker Announces Hyundai Translead to Bring 2,500 Jobs to Illinois

WILL COUNTY — Governor JB Pritzker and Hyundai Translead today announced that the company will establish new trailer manufacturing facilities in Illinois, creating nearly 2,500 new full-time jobs in the state. With Hyundai Translead’s $450 million investment and commitment to creating thousands of jobs in Will County, Illinois continues to establish itself as a global destination for advanced manufacturing companies who invest in Illinois communities. Today’s announcement occurred in conjunction with American Trucking Associations’ Technology & Maintenance Council Annual Meeting & Transportation Technology Exhibition.

Gov. Pritzker Announces Three Appointments to Boards and Commissions

Caryn Tucker will continue to serve as a Member of the Illinois Forensic Science Commission.* Tucker currently serves as Training Coordinator in Firearms and Toolmarks for the Illinois State Police (ISP), where she is responsible for training and providing continuing education for forensic scientists. Previously, Tucker served as Group Supervisor and Forensic Scientist at ISP. Tucker also previously served as Chair of the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network. Tucker earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Quincy University and her Master of Science in Forensic Science from University of Illinois Chicago.

Gov. Pritzker Signs Executive Order to Prepare Illinois’ Workforce for the Jobs of the Future  

CHICAGO — Today, Governor JB Pritzker signed Executive Order 2026-03 to establish an Illinois State Attainment Working Group. The working group will evaluate Illinois’ workforce and training needs, which includes identifying the degrees, certificates, workforce credentials, and support systems Illinoisans will need to meet future labor market demand, strengthen economic mobility, and support long-term economic growth across the state.

CHICAGO - Today, Governor JB Pritzker is demanding that the Trump Administration release federal funds for the Brandon Road Interbasin Project to protect the Great Lakes, an economic engine for the country and a fresh drinking water source for more than 40 million Americans. Earlier this week, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer also asked President Trump to release these funds.

KANKAKEE COUNTY – Governor Pritzker visited the communities of Kankakee and Aroma Park this afternoon to assess the damage done by the significant storms that hit the state Tuesday night. During the visit, the Governor received briefings from Illinois Emergency Management Agency and Office of Homeland Security (IEMA-OHS) leadership, local officials, and emergency responders on the ground detailing the extent of the injuries suffered and the damage inflicted.
