Gov. Pritzker Urges Trump Administration to Approve Broadband Expansion Plan

CHICAGO – Today, Governor JB Pritzker urged U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick to promptly approve Illinois’ Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Final Proposal, which would deliver $1.04 billion in federal funding to expand broadband access to more than 383,000 Illinois residents, the vast majority living in rural communities. Illinois and California are the only two states awaiting approval.

Gov. Pritzker Announces Nine Appointments to Boards and Commissions

David Bennett will continue to serve as a Member of the Amusement Ride and Attraction Safety Board.* Bennett currently serves as Equity Partner at the Law Offices of Pretzel and Stouffer in Chicago, specializing in liability and the representation of amusement, sports, and recreation facilities. Bennett joined Pretzel and Stouffer in 1989 and was elected Partner in 1996. Bennett currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel, the Board of Directors of the International Amusement and Leisure Defense Association, and the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions. Bennett earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Purdue University and his Juris Doctorate from Illinois Institute of Technology’s Chicago-Kent College of Law.

$12 million in grants will transform neighborhood infrastructure into active transportation options for students across the state

Gov. Pritzker Announces Safe Routes to School Awards

CHICAGO – Governor JB Pritzker and Illinois Transportation Secretary Gia Biagi today announced $12 million in grants for projects that will help boost the health and safety of children by making walking, biking, and rolling to school safer and more accessible, boosting quality of life throughout the state. The popular Safe Routes to School program is funding 68 proposals by local governments and schools that range from improving neighborhood infrastructure to supporting community educational and safety programs.
