NORMAL – Today, Governor JB Pritzker joined Rivian and local leaders to highlight how Illinois’ investments in electric vehicle manufacturing, infrastructure, and workforce development are helping drive continued growth in the state’s electric vehicle ecosystem. As Rivian expands production of its R2 vehicle, the company’s growing footprint in Normal continues creating jobs and strengthening Illinois’ position as a leader in the future of manufacturing. Rivian is rapidly hiring employees to support production of the R2 midsize SUV and the company’s long-term growth in Illinois.

Gov. Pritzker Announces One Appointment to Boards and Commissions

Jha’Shaira Farmer will serve as a Member of the Kaskaskia Regional Port District Board.* Farmer currently serves as Logistics Specialist for the United States Naval Reserves. Previously, Farmer was Transaction Data Financial Analyst with Ernst and Young. Active in her community, Farmer currently serves on the Board of Directors at Sinai Family Life Center and previously served on the Southwestern Illinois Development Authority Board. Farmer earned her Bachelor of Science from University of Arkansas Pine Bluff and is currently pursuing a Juris Doctorate at Southern Illinois University Simmons Law School.

Gov. Pritzker Announces Eight Appointments to Boards and Commissions

Ama Addai will continue to serve as a Member of the Capital Development Board.* Addai currently serves as Area Director of Civil Infrastructure with TRC Companies, Inc., formerly known as The Research Corporation of New England. Previously, Addai served as Associate Vice President of Utilities and Energy with The Roderick Group, leading the management of solar infrastructure projects. In her personal capacity, Addai is a member of the Women’s Transportation Seminar International Chicago Chapter, the Women’s Energy Network Chicago Chapter, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Addai earned her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from University of Illinois and her Master of Construction Engineering and Management from Illinois Institute of Technology.

1,500 new homebuyers offered $18 million in downpayment assistance - a 52% increase in the number of Illinoisans served from 2025

Gov. Pritzker Announces Down Payment Assistance Milestone for First-Time Homebuyers 

CHICAGO — Today, Governor Pritzker announced that 1,500 new Illinois homebuyers have been offered $18 million in downpayment assistance through the newly created IHDAccess Home (Access Home) program – representing a 52 percent increase in the number of people served by all other IHDA loan programs compared to April 2025. This progress took place just nine weeks after the program was launched, which speaks to the need among first-time homebuyers as well as the effectiveness of the program.
