Roundtable and pharmacy visit highlight need to regulate pharmacy benefit managers 

Gov. Pritzker Focuses on Lowering Prescription Drug Costs 

CHICAGO—On the heels of his 2025 State of the State budget address, Governor Pritzker focused on one of his top legislative priorities this year: lowering prescriptions drug costs. After introducing the Prescription Drug Affordability Act (PDAA) in his address, the Governor hosted a roundtable in Springfield with legislators and independent pharmacists to discuss the impact pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) have had on their businesses. In Chicago, the Governor visited Chicago Pride Pharmacy to highlight the struggles faced by independent pharmacies and the importance of reform.

Gov. Pritzker Meets with Illinois Agriculture Leaders Concerned About Trump’s Tax on Working Families

CHICAGO — Today, Governor JB Pritzker spoke with leaders from agriculture commodity groups in the State including: the Illinois Beef Association, Illinois Corn Growers Association, Illinois Pork Producers Association, and the Illinois Soybean Association to discuss the current and potential impacts of Trump’s Tax on Working Families on Illinois farmers and the state’s agricultural industry.

Building on a strong team of diverse experts in their fields, Governor JB Pritzker announced the following appointments in his administration

Gov. Pritzker Announces Five Appointments to Boards and Commissions

Mitchell Davis III will continue to serve as a Member of the Illinois Commission on Discrimination and Hate Crimes.* Chief Davis has dedicated his career to law enforcement and currently serves as the Chief of Police of the Hazel Crest Police Department and Vice President of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives. He is also an appointed member of the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board. A recognized expert in his field, Chief Davis contributed to the evaluation of the Louisville Metropolitan Police Department following the killing of Breonna Taylor and has spoken on Capitol Hill for the National League of Cities on addressing homelessness, substance abuse, and mental illness. His contributions have earned him numerous accolades, including Chicago Defender’s Men of Excellence Award in 2021 and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Civil Rights Library. Chief Davis earned a Bachelor of Arts from Governors State University, Master of Science from the University of Cincinnati, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Organizational Leadership from Concordia University Chicago.
