Gov. Pritzker Announces Four Appointments to Boards and  Commissions

David Goldenberg will continue to serve as a Member of the Illinois Commission on Discrimination and Hate Crimes.* Goldenberg is the Regional Director of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), overseeing the organization’s work across the Midwest. Before joining ADL, he was the Executive Vice President of Resolute Consulting, where he advised public and private sector clients on crisis communications and strategic engagement. Earlier in his career, Goldenberg spent a decade in government and politics, including as Chief of Staff in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he worked on key initiatives to fight antisemitism, xenophobia, and religious discrimination through the U.S. Helsinki Commission and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. He was named a Leadership Greater Chicago Fellow in 2021 and previously served as a trustee of the Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago and as a member of the Jewish Federations of North America’s National Young Leadership Cabinet. In addition to serving on the Illinois Commission on Discrimination and Hate Crimes, he serves on the Illinois State Treasurer’s Jewish Advisory Council. Goldenberg earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from James Madison College at Michigan State University and a Master of Arts in International Commerce and Policy from George Mason University.

Gov. Pritzker Cuts Ribbon on New Enclosed Arena at Giant City Stables

MAKANDA- Today, Governor JB Pritzker joined the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR), the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), Senator Dale Fowler and local leaders to celebrate the opening of a new enclosed horse arena at Giant City Stables. The new enclosed facility, part of Giant City State Park in southern Illinois, will offer year-round therapeutic horse-riding for youth, veterans, and individuals with disabilities, as well as riding lessons and trail rides for the park’s visitors. The design offers greater privacy for therapeutic riding lessons, while preserving the dignity of clients and their families.

Gov. Pritzker Breaks Ground on Major Development in Southern Illinois

MARION – Governor JB Pritzker, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), and the Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR) today joined the City of Marion and leaders from around Southern Illinois to break ground on an approximately 550,000-square-foot retail, entertainment and hospitality development in Marion – the first Sales Tax and Revenue (STAR) Bond Project in Illinois.

VENICE- Today, Governor JB Pritzker joined the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) and local leaders to announce eight awards totaling just over $10 million through the Illinois Grocery Initiative New Stores in Food Deserts Program ($9.6 million) and Equipment Upgrades Grant Program ($600,000) to address food deserts and prevent grocery store closures in Illinois. Grantees were selected through competitive Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) processes

Gov. Pritzker Announces Electric Bus Company, Damera, to Open First U.S. Assembly Plant in Illinois

WASHINGTON, DC- Governor JB Pritzker, Damera Corporation and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) today announced the company will open its first U.S. assembly plant in the Greater Peoria region. Damera Corporation (Damera Bus USA LLC in the U.S.) plans to make a capital investment of more than $31.5 million over four years with support from a Reimagining Energy and Vehicles in Illinois (REV Illinois) agreement, which will enable the company to expand into Illinois and create 90 new full-time jobs. The announcement was made with Governor Pritzker and Damera leadership in Washington DC as part of a larger business development trip.

Australian Ambassador Rudd, UK Ambassador Mandelson, and Governor Pritzker promote innovation in quantum industries

Illinois, Australia, United Kingdom Meet to Boost Collaboration Across Business and Technology Sectors

WASHINGTON, DC- Yesterday, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, Australian Ambassador to the U.S. Kevin Rudd, and United Kingdom Ambassador the U.S. Peter Mandelson met with business and technology leaders to discuss boosting collaboration and advancing innovation in the fast-growing quantum industries. As part of the event, the three leaders participated in a quantum roundtable alongside leading international quantum companies, highlighting opportunities for joint research and design efforts, cross-border partnerships, and workforce development. Illinois also signed a letter of intent which will see Australian technology firm Diraq expand its US footprint to the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park as a tenant. Diraq is working on technology that supports quantum computers in the exchange of information.

Gov. Pritzker will continue to attend meetings and events with CEOs, international trade partners, and other key stakeholders in Washington, DC to encourage private sector leaders to choose Illinois as they attend the SelectUSA Investment Summit.
