Gov. Pritzker Announces One Appointment to Boards and Commissions

Building on a strong team of diverse experts in their fields, Governor JB Pritzker announced the following appointment in his administration

Illinois Workforce Innovation Board

Jane Flanagan will continue to serve as a Member of the Illinois Workforce Innovation Board.* Flanagan has served as Director of Illinois Department of Labor, the State of Illinois’ primary labor standards agency, since 2022. In this role, she leads efforts to protect and advance the rights of workers in the state, including enforcing the minimum wage law, safeguarding children from dangerous work, ensuring fair pay, and promoting safe workplaces. Flanagan previously served as Deputy General Counsel in the Office of the Governor of Illinois, where she provided advice on legal and regulatory matters across a portfolio of state agencies. While in this role, Flanagan helped craft and implement significant workforce and labor legislation, including the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act, the Illinois Works Jobs Programs Act, and amendments to the Equal Pay Act. Before that, Flanagan served in the Office of the Attorney General of Illinois and the Maryland Department of Labor. Flanagan earned her Bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University and her Juris Doctorate from Northeastern University School of Law.
