Gov. Pritzker Announces One Appointment to Boards and Commissions

Building on a strong team of diverse experts in their fields, Governor JB Pritzker announced the following appointment in his administration

Commission on Discrimination and Hate Crimes

Brendan Kelly will continue to serve as a Member of the Commission on Discrimination and Hate Crimes.* Kelly currently serves as the Director of the Illinois State Police, a position he has held since 2019. Previously, he was the Assistant State’s Attorney for St. Clair County and later served as its State’s Attorney for eight years. Kelly also served in the military as an officer in the United States Navy. Kelly earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame and a Juris Doctor from St. Louis University School of Law.

* Appointments pending confirmation by the Illinois Senate.
