Gov. Pritzker Announces Three Appointments to Boards and Commissions
Building on a strong team of diverse experts in their fields, Governor JB Pritzker announced the following appointments in his administration

Amusement Ride and Attraction Safety Board
Daniel Rowell will serve as a Member of the Amusement Ride and Attraction Safety Board.* Rowell currently serves as Working Supervisor and Technical Expert at the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) in the Bureau of Air Permit Section’s Clean Air Act Permit Program (CAAPP) Construction Unit. He has 11 years of comprehensive experience in the review of applications for air pollution control construction permits issued to major stationary industrial sources and for Clean Air Act Title V permits for a variety of Illinois industries. Rowell is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois and earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission
Dr. Emily Poynter Jenkins will serve as a Member of the Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission.* Jenkins is Water Resources Group Lead and Champaign Civil Engineering Manager at Farnsworth Group. She specializes in sustainable and ecological designs to manage stormwater and improve water quality. Prior to Farnsworth Group, Jenkins worked at the Illinois State Water Survey, where she was a contributing author of the Illinois Model Ordinance for municipalities. She also worked at private consulting firms within the Chesapeake Bay watershed to reduce sedimentation and improve water quality of the Bay. Jenkins earned her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, her Master of Science in Ecological Engineering from University of Maryland, and her doctorate from University of Illinois.
State Board of Health
Jeffrey Workman will serve as a Member of the State Board of Health.* Workman brings over 34 years of continuous experience with the Clay and Effingham County Health Departments, where he works as the head administrator. He has served on multiple local, regional, and state boards and councils ranging from the Higher Expectation Food Pantry and the Clay City Consolidated School District to statewide organizations like the Illinois Public Health Association and the Public Health Practitioner Certification Board. Workman earned his Associate of Science in Business from Olney Central College and his Bachelor of Science in Business from Eastern Illinois University.
