Gov. Pritzker Announces Two Appointments to Boards and Commissions
Building on a strong team of diverse experts in their fields, Governor JB Pritzker announced the following appointments in his administration

Illinois Torture Inquiry and Relief Commission
Brian Richardson will serve as a Member of the Illinois Torture Inquiry and Relief Commission.* Richardson has over twenty years of progressive leadership and management experience within the private, public, and nonprofit sectors. He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of StartOut, a national nonprofit organization where he leads a dynamic platform for LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs and innovators. Previously, Richardson was Lamda Legal’s Midwest Regional Director. He also served as Deputy Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Public Health. Richardson sits on the ACLU of Illinois' Board of Directors and serves on the Executive and Development Committees. Richardson holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Chicago and a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Berkley.
Tameka Walton will serve as a Member of the Illinois Torture Inquiry and Relief Commission.* Walton is a community organizer who brings fourteen years of advocacy experience to this board. She currently serves as the Founder and Executive Director of Restored Hope where she empowers women and girls to overcome the cycles of violence and trauma. Previously, she served as the Executive Director of Strive Tutoring. Walton volunteers her time on several nonprofit boards, including the Chicago Women’s Health Center and Chicago Survivors. Walton received a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from DePaul University.
