Gov. Pritzker Announces Two Appointments to Boards and Commissions
Building on a strong team of diverse experts in their fields, Governor JB Pritzker announced the following appointments in his administration

Lottery Control Board
Alex Garza will continue to serve as a Member of the Lottery Control Board.* Garza has over 25 years of professional business and marketing development experience in the health care insurance, non-profit and public sectors, including over 10 years teaching in higher education. Garza is Founder and President of AGG Consulting, Inc. where she provides strategic marketing, leadership development, governance, and business development consulting services to health care insurance companies, educational institutions, non-profits, and public sector entities. Previously, Garza led national marketing and business development teams at both Aetna and United Healthcare where she served public sector clients such as the federal government, states, municipalities, school districts, and labor and trust organizations. Garza currently serves on the Chicago History Museum’s Board of Trustees, Metropolitan Planning Council’s Board of Governors, State of Illinois Lottery Control Board, the University of Illinois at Chicago Liberal Arts and Science’s Board of Visitors, and the University of Illinois Foundation Board. She has been featured in Latina Style, Hispanic Business Magazine, VOXXI New Media, Diversity Journal and NegociosNow. Garza holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and a certificate in Non-Profit Governance from Harvard’s Business School Executive Program.
Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority
Don Villar will continue to serve as a Member of the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority.* Villar currently serves as Secretary/Treasurer for the Chicago Federation of Labor. Villar is the former president of NABET-CWA Local 41, worked as counsel at Shaw Legal Services, and was a news writer and producer for WLS-TV. He currently serves as a board member at ARISE Chicago, the Metropolitan Planning Council, Jobs With Justice Chicago, the Illinois Justice Project and United Way of Metropolitan Chicago. Villar is additionally a member of the Asian American Bar Association, the Catholic Lawyers Guild, and is the former President of the Asian American Journalists Association and the Organization of Chinese Americans, Chicago Chapter. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and History from the University of Illinois at Chicago and Juris Doctorate from Loyola University of Chicago Law School.
