TOKYO- Today, Governor JB Pritzker continued his trade mission in Japan with meetings to highlight Illinois’ clean energy efforts and flourishing business landscape.
The Governor participated in the ComEd Clean Energy Roundtable alongside ComEd CEO Gil Quinones, legislators, and Illinois company leaders. Held at Bloomberg Tokyo Headquarters, the roundtable focused on renewable energy initiatives, investments into clean energy jobs, and solar installation efforts. The Governor touted Illinois’ Climate and Equitable Jobs Act and transformational workforce development programs to build the next generation of clean energy workers.
Later that day, Governor Pritzker and members of the delegation then took meetings with business leaders, some of which have companies with their U.S. headquarters in Illinois. The Governor used these meetings to highlight Illinois’ strengths as a geographical midpoint in the U.S., the state’s growing workforce and business infrastructure investments, as well as the unique incentives for new and expanding businesses that choose to work in Illinois.
The delegation closed out the evening on Wednesday with the U.S. embassy reception hosted by Ambassador Rahm Emanuel, which brought together delegates and Japanese company leaders. Tomorrow the Governor will conclude the successful trade mission with a final round of executive meetings to promote Illinois’ thriving business atmosphere.
