Today, Governor JB Pritzker took the following bill action:
Bill Number: HB 598
Description: Provides that the Cook County annual tax sale, which would normally be held in calendar year 2025, shall be filed on or before December 1, 2026 (currently March 10, 2026), and that specified taxing districts that offer abatements according to the Energy Community Reinvestment Act must include the amount of the abatement in the district’s aggregate extension base for specified tax years.
