Today, Governor JB Pritzker took the following bill action:

Bill Number: HB742

Description: Delays the effective date of the Interchange Fee Prohibition Act until July 1, 2026.

Action: Signed

Effective: Immediately

 

Bill Number: HB850

Description: Creates a more transparent and expedited process for individuals whose Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) cards are revoked or denied due to a “clear and present danger” determination.

Action: Signed

Effective: Immediately. Except sections 3 and 4 take effect on January 1, 2026, and section 6 takes effect upon becoming law or on the date SB8 of the 104th GA takes effect, whichever is later.

Description: FY26 Budget Implementation legislation

Action: Signed

Effective: Immediately

 

Bill Number: HB2755

Description: FY26 Revenue Omnibus legislation

Action: Signed

Effective: Immediately

 

Bill Number: HB2771

Description: Modifies and makes permanent the Hospital Assessment Program, including provisions for the Department of Healthcare and Family Services (“HFS”) to collect unpaid assessments from delinquent hospital providers.

Action: Signed

Effective: Immediately

Description: FY26 Bond Authorization legislation

Effective: January 1, 2026

 

Bill Number: SB2437

Description: Medicaid Omnibus legislation. Makes various changes to the Illinois Medicaid program.

Effective: July 1, 2025, except that Article 10 takes effect January 1, 2026.

 

Bill Number: SB2456

Description: Sunset extension omnibus legislation. Delays the repeal of various statutes.

Action: Signed

Effective: Immediately

 

Bill Number: SB2510

Description: FY26 Budget

Action: Approved, with certain line items reduced.

Effective: Articles 1 through 20, Article 125, Article 126 and Article 162 take effect immediately. Articles 21 through 124, Articles 127 through 161, and Articles 163 through 183 take effect July 1, 2025.
