CHICAGO- This week, Gov. Pritzker continued delivering major economic wins for Illinois, securing investments that are creating thousands of jobs in communities across the state. With business incentives stronger than ever under Gov. Pritzker’s leadership and a booming manufacturing and innovation sector, Illinois is becoming one of the best states to raise a family and do business. The new economic development and new jobs follows Gov. Pritzker announcing that Illinois doubled private investments in the state last year and quadrupled the number of retained jobs.
Stellantis, UAW Bring Back Manufacturing Jobs to Belvidere
On Wednesday, Gov. Pritzker commended Stellantis’ investment in Belvidere, which will put 1,500 Illinoisans back to work and grow Illinois’ automotive industry. Under Gov. Pritzker’s leadership, the state played a key role in securing this major investment for the workers of Belvidere. Gov. Pritzker also announced that the Belvidere plant is set to break ground this year, driving economic growth for the region.

Company Picks Deerfield as Global Headquarters
On Wednesday, Governor Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) announced that Fortune Brands Innovation, an industry-leading company, has chosen Illinois as the home of their global headquarter – creating at least 400 new jobs and the capacity for over 1,000 jobs. Driven by the state’s strengthened business incentives, this investment is a testament to Illinois’ talented workforce and dynamic business ecosystem.

Four Other Companies Choose Illinois
During the first month of the year, more companies have been announcing they will invest nearly $100 million. As part of DCEO’s Economic Development for a Growing Economy Tax Credit Program (EDGE) program, Gov. Pritzker is making sure businesses have the incentives to create jobs, drive capital investment, and improve the standard of living for all Illinoisans.
Companies that recently announced new jobs in Illinois:
- Frichtl Processing and Slaughtering is constructing a new packaging facility in Dietrich that will create hundreds of new jobs, help combat food insecurity in the region, and support Illinois agriculture.
- Mantec Services, Inc. is establishing an Illinois presence in St. Charles, a strategic location for the manufacturing of their industry leading custom safety bumper and assembly of custom molded foam for the aerospace industry.
- Funkytown Brewery is constructing a new manufacturing facility in Chicago and putting its beer in 600 stores across the state.
- Minnick Illinois, LLC is expanding its Illinois operations in New Lenox where it will construct a new facility to meet its growing demand for their precast concrete products for the underground stormwater and wastewater industries.
